A journey of jewellery making

In 2014 I began making jewellery using silver plated charms & acrylic beads. I loved the creativity, the making process & having something to show for it after.
I even wore a bracelet that I made to my wedding!
But after a while my creativity out grew the charms that were available so in 2017 I dabbled with polymer clay.

Polymer clay gave me complete freedom as I started with an idea & a ball of clay!
But I began to have reservations about using silver plated materials, as once the silver plated materials tarnished there was no way to clean it.
Plus I hated the smell of baking the polymer clay

In 2019 I gave resin work a go, as I knew I could start with silver plated materials but then move on to real silver.
But I soon became unhappy with the amount of waste that was being produced & less than a year later I stopped working with resin all together!

Then in 2020 after hearing about silver clay, along with a lot of research & online learning I bought my first pack of silver clay!
I loved how the materials were all eco-friendly & that I could adapt my practices to align with my eco-conscious jewellery making ideals.
Plus it gave me unlimited creativity as each time I start with a ball of clay & mistakes can easily be recycled or reworked.
Silver clay is made from recycled silver, an organic binder & water, which can be reworked at any stage. I love to use pure silver clay (.999) & pair it with eco sterling silver components such as wire & ethically sourced gemstones.
My favourite things to make are vintage inspired designs that use teeny handcrafted elements, ethical gemstones & one of a kind. You can browse my current designs here
